Welcome to Belgium – Institut de la Providence (Gosselies)

From 15 to 22 November 2025, partners from Belgium, France, Romania, and Lithuania gathered in Gosselies for the Erasmus+ project “Changing the Scene: Actors and Algorithms Unite for the Planet.”

Overview

Creativity. Technology. Education.

By uniting creativity, technology, and education, this Erasmus+ project empowers students to take action for a more sustainable future.

Together, schools from across Europe are changing the scene: learning, creating, and acting for the PLANET through collaboration and shared responsibility.

Day 1: Welcome & School Presentations

The week began with a warm reception arranged by the Belgian hosts.

All partner teams presented their schools, project activities, and the work their students have carried out so far.

This allowed participants to better understand each other’s educational contexts and project contributions.

Day 2: Brussels Exploration & Belexpo

A full-day trip to Brussels gave students the opportunity to participate in a city rally in small mixed teams.

At Belexpo, partners explored interactive exhibits focusing on climate change, sustainable cities, and the role of young people in shaping the planet’s future.

Day 3: Workshops on Sustainability

Back in Gosselies, CAL led an engaging workshop on overconsumption, encouraging participants to reflect on daily habits and global consumer culture.
A screening of “Dark Waters” (Todd Haynes, 2019) was followed by a panel debate involving all partner schools—an activity that fostered deep reflection on environmental justice, activism, and corporate accountability.

Day 4: Visit to the Gileppe Dam

The international group also visited the Gileppe Dam.

They learned about water resource management, renewable energy, and the environmental impact of large-scale engineering projects.

This visit strengthened the scientific and ecological dimension of the project.
